Fiat 500 models old and new that won the world over with their charming design!
The Italian Fiat company carries on in both the name and tradition of one of the world's oldest automobile manufacturers. With over 110 years of history, their cars have known no bounds since their first model release, but if you were to ask which model best represents the Fiat brand as a whole, most people would answer the 500 (Cinquincento).
The 500 has its roots in the 1936 Topolino release, but didn't become a household name until the release of the second generation Nouva 500, sold from 1957-77. Not only was it known as the Italian's everyman car and beloved by civilian motorists far and wide, its light weight and easy handling charmed car enthusiasts the world over. The slightly modified 500F release in 1965 appeared in the classic Lupin the Third anime, which only served to increase its recognition in Japan.
Moving forward, the third generation debuted on the 50th anniversary of the Nuova 500 release in 2007. Revived for the 21st century, a new twist was put on the classic 500 design, and the engine displacement and drive were changed drastically, but this new face carrying on from the second generation soon became worldwide hit.
This series recreates these 2 500 model cars old and new, worthy of their "Auto Greats" status, in 1/64 scale size. Complete with all the charming details of the actual cars.
